Radeon 7870 good enough?

just changed my monitor to dell 27". was wondering if my sapphire radeon 7870 can still hold up.

do i require an upgrade? I do not game but watch movies at QHD resolution

Movies don't use GPU. CPU will matter more.

If you are only watching movies, even integrated graphics is overkill. So your 7870 is more than sufficient and not even working hard at all.

Your 27' monitor is QHD? What model is it?

i downloaded GTA V recently and it is not that smooth to play on my u2415. it crashes for the first time when i change to the u2714 QHD. i disabled all shadows.

is my 7870 not even good enough to play gta v without shadow? i always thought it is one of the higher mid ends card.

7870 should be able to play gta v at very high settings 1080p off all anti aliasing. Use latest amd driver 15.4 beta
