Hi Guys,
Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this:
For RAM population, eg: Dual channel, Triple channel, Quad channel, do I take reference from the CPU or the motherboard or both.
Eg:
CPU: ARK | Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2667 v2 (25M Cache, 3.30 GHz)
# of Memory Channels 4
Does this mean that, performance wise, 4 x 2GB RAM will be better than 1 x 8GB RAM?
How about motherboard? Do I need a "quad channel" motherboard? or no need?
I am relatively new when it comes to this. Can gurus can shed some advice? Or am I getting the whole concept wrong?
