i have x58 board that is able to run triple channel memory...

I have dual channel ram, if i get another single module ram of the kind and slot it in the x58 board will it work like triple channel ?

mean now is dual channel kit + single module = 3x4gb ram
will it work like the triple channel package.

As long as the board detects, and it supports,
it will still be Tri-ch.
ie 1600MHz 4GBx2 kit + 1 module 4GB 1600MHz
Just put in the correct slots.(1/3/5 or 2/4/6)
During X58 launch/era 2008, 4GB tri-ch kits were not mainstream.
They became more available around 2010 or so.
So some boards might not detect if it was still on the old bioes.
(Just update b4 using and you're gd to go) :)
