Let's say I am going to build a new com with 16Gb of ram and my mobo have 4 ram slot.

Should I buy 2x8gb or 4x4Gb of ram?

*ignore about the price, just wanna know which setup is better*

Reason I ask this is that I remember reading some where on the net saying something about memory access.

For someone who wanna build a com with 8gb ram, best to build 2x4gb than 1x8gb.

To me is 2x8GB. As much capacity as you can at as little number of RAM stick as possible, provided it is still running dual channel.

Try to leave room for upgrade, unless you "future proof" your rig by overkill on RAM capacity at upfront cost to your rig budget, or you intend to change rig every 2/3 years.
