Ah... finally an epic troubleshooting thread after some time.

It's not so easy to isolate a BSOD isn't it?

I'll come back to TS in a bit but here's an interesting nugget from the annals of computing history.

Sun Microsystem (now owned by Oracle) had a problem in the early 2000s. Their industry-renowned reliability was taking a huge hit from seemingly random errors in their spanking-new SPARC servers that couldn't be replicated consistently by their engineers. I.E. they knew there was a problem (the output was garbage) but it was random.

They tried replacing entire CPUs (and they ran into the hundreds at some installations) but the problem kept recurring, on brand-new hardware.

That's when IBM--the supplier of the SRAM in the servers--advised their clients of the effect of alpha particle corruption to the SRAM modules, months after they identified the problem and stopped using them in IBM's own products.

Try tracing that!

Back to TS. The problem is narrowed down to the motherboard and PSU. I'd say it's probably the motherboard's RAM slot. Good luck RMAing though.

Maybe ESD.

I don't seem to see that ESD protection is a concern locally for people and shops.

rare, but still possible, and really the last thing you would want to become faulty, as it is usually the last part of the PC that you would troubleshoot...
