i"m using Canon IXUS 85 IS
PnS Digital Camera only

DOF-wise, i'm not sure wad u mean by Manual Controls
but my IXUS cannot set aperture manually de
so i can only use its "macro" or "digital macro" mode to get close up pictures with nice nice DOF

Haha, once u go for DSLR, prosumers u will never look back. Should start with a basic one to master the skill 1st. The thing bout DSLR is that its very bulky and requires a high maintenance cost, E.g dry cabinet and lenses.

and there's a lot more i have to learn, for one its the aperture and its relationship with ISO/ShutterSpeed etc..

and because of the compactness of PnS, there are some places that a DSLR can never reach

haha~ but i think if i get a DSLR
first thing i will experiment is DIY-Bokehs

they looked like real couple, vey natural and seems to have some chemistry, you need to Bring your own gf i guess.

The best photo must be as natural as possible. Some of the shoots I saw about people look simple but nice.

I did went for a Canon lecture when I got my G10. It's conducted by their inhouse photographer.

He ever mentioned that PnS Camera can still produce the type of DOF BOKEH
but it's very shallow & don't expect much.

anyways, the movement of this subforum isnt particularly fast, don think it makes that much of a difference weather its stickied or not (as compared to edmw :s22)
