when i doing research for dslr
i read somewhere tt for Sony, either get A380 or above (iirc the model no.)
else get other brand

:(

I think now for Alpha should look at the A550 series. Else, a Canon 550D will be another choice for similar price range and with better features.

There should also be a wider array of lens to choose from for Canon mount (correct me if I am wrong).

300 and 200 series diff only is one got live view, one dun have.

Saw MScolor selling 599 very temp to hoot. :o

Now thinking whether GF1 or Nex 3.

GF1 cost 1.1K with a 14-42mm len. Nex3 cost 1K with a 16mm f/2.8 and a 18-55mm len. But with this amount, i can get a pentax K-x or a D3000 liao. :o
But im more to street taking le...thats why i brign out my cam everyday..if i got a dslr, this might be a problem. If i get a GF1 and Nex3, it cost more but iirc, performance wotn be as good as a dslr. :o

So ya...still thinking... :o

I heard the Sony NEX series has a bigger sensor (APS-C) sensor. So in terms of image quality should be somewhere close to DSLRs?

Haven't seen much reviews on this camera yet though.

Yes, prices of such cameras cost more than a SLR. Might not be worth unless you are concerned about size.

I am a street shooter also. I debated over the K-x for a very long time but decided that the weight (700g) was just too much for everyday use. I went with the Samsung NX10 instead. The 30mm pancake is very sharp and offers a good FOV. It is priced well also.

Default is 16mm f/2.8 and 18-55mm zoom lens included.

I think play with these 2 first...

Then if needed, i think should have a adapter to mount 50mm F/1.8.. :o

Careful. 16mm (FOV - 24mm) is very very wide. It's more like a specialist lens for architecture shots or landscapes. Even "wide angle" cameras come with a minimum of 28mm. This pancake is not entirely suitable as an everyday walk-around lens unless you really know what you are doing.
