Nice picture, where you usually shoot all your bird's picture ?
I think really need a lot of patience to get a good shoot.

Thanks bro. :)
I've been to many Nature Parks (Admiralty, Bukit Timah, West Coast, Punggol, Bukit Batok, Bishan etc), Lower Pierce Reservior, SBG, MOG, CG/JG/Lakeside, Spore Quarry etc
But lately at CG/JG, SBG & Bukit Batok Nature Park the most. :D

For birding, not only patience is req'd, you need to face tough shooting conditions eg strong backlight, messy background(leaves+branches), muddy grass, mosquitoe/ants/snakes etc.
Besides these u need expensive gears (ultra telephoto prime lens, solid build tripods (Gitzo?)) if you are really serious into birding photography.

No leh, I'm using a cheapo k-x, while others at least a Canon 7D or 5D MarkXX, D300s/D3/D3s/D700, all are few times the price of mine.
For lens, I'm only at 300mm F4, average serious birder at least a 500mm F4 :s22:
My tripod is also sub-std, near $500, others are using >$1k Gitzo.=:p

dont be so surprised..

later trinitron will give u lecture on why u should spend a lot of money on tripod...

btw, ken, time to upgrade to k-5 for better ISO performance

Ops I can only advise, I'm no expert to lecture. =:p
I'm now in dilemma, k5 or D7000 + 200-500mm :s11:

I know but I really need to change cam as k-x vf doesn't show focussing pt. which I need it badly.
Even if I get the D7000, it'll still keep k-x, maybe sell some rarely use lens & the D7000 will get with a 500mm lens for birding + 10-24mm for landscape. For prime lens (below 100mm), Pentax is better!

Saw the sample pics of FW's k-r at iso3200.
Looks pretty clean but maybe only slightly better than k-x.
Looking fwd for k-5 's high iso pics, should be better than k-r as it's a different sensor.
