I looked at labert_1981 pictures. I find that the color is very brilliant.

Still got a lot to learn. :(

Learn to Photoshop. Its easy to get contrasty punchy photos. If its straight out of the camera, then the contrast is set either too high or there's something wrong with it. But i must say the sky was really clear tho hence the nice blue color. :)

Like HC72 said, photoshop can help in the colors. For me I use Lightroom though and fiddle around with the curves and contrast. I used Grad filters on my lens too so sometimes the colors can be punchy.

U can do it also!

The zoom out one I read b4 somewhere that u have to time the zoom out according to the focal length u last zoomed into and the exposure time. Is more practical for longer shutter speeds so have to use high aperture values. Like if shutter speed is 10s, den a 3s interval of zooming out something like dat, trial & error. Den maybe a parfocus lens is more suitable also. Not very sure so I can be wrong :o

The star effects I think have to use high aperture values like f16 onwards. More aperture blades in the lens will give better star burst effects also I think.

Or u can just simply use a star filter to get the effects, for example:

This one I used a Tianya Star4 filter :D
