Random power loss/restart after overclocking

I've been trying to overclock my 3570k since it's coming to it's end of life and I'm trying to squeeze out as much performance from it before I upgrade.

However, even with the slightest overclock (turbo ratio/multiplier set to 40) and giving it much more CPU voltage then needed as recommend by most guides, my computer has random loss of power during intensive task. The screen will go black/rans stop spinning as if the PSU switch was flipped, then it will restart on its own.

I am pretty sure that no there's limits are being hit as the highest core temperature does not exceed 62°c throughout all these.

My specs are
3570k + Asus p8p67-m
Corsair h80i
16gb 1600 RAM
Seasonic 620w M12II
RX580 8gb

Both the motherboard and PSU were bought second hand, so I am suspecting that either the VRM on the motherboard is weak/faulty or the PSU is dying. However, the only other PSU I have is 500w and hasn't really seemed to be able to support my rx580 well.

did you stress test it with x264 benchmark loops for at least 2 to 4 hours before declaring it "stable" ???

you cannot just copy and paste multiplier&voltage settings you see online

I remember need to type a few command like 16T yes yes 13 loops (which match 2hour) , it's mentioned in the readme file

did you stress test it with x264 benchmark loops for at least 2 to 4 hours before declaring it "stable" ???

you cannot just copy and paste multiplier&voltage settings you see online

exactly, I am saying that my configuration isn't stable at all since it has power loss as soon as I do any intensive tasks eg. prime95.

however, what I am asking here is that my CPU seems extremely unstable even at the most conservative settings (mild 4.0ghz overclock, almost maxing out the recommend CPU voltage at ~1.35v) hence should I be tweaking the overclock or looking for any hardware issues considering the old hardware?

try putting a 80mm to 120mm fan blow the motherboard vrm ... since your corsair AIO no longer circulate air to that part

Could be anything, honestly. Might want to check out the voltages on the rails of the PSU, check the MB for bloated caps, etc.

Random shutdown under load normally means PSU issue, or could be you need to relax your RAM timings more.

The PSU looks very likely. M12ii is a very old platform which is a group-regulated design. Most modern PSU even low end ones like corsair's cx series is using dc-dc hence more stable rails.
