[UPDATE] Random shut down problem.

Seeking advise for my friend's computer.

Experience random shut down problem once every few days even during basic usage.

Thought is was overheating issue but temperature looks fine.
Highest recorded temp during load for cpu <65 degree C , gpu <83 degree C
Idle temp for cpu ~35 degree C, gpu ~35 degree C.

Assembled his com recently (Less than 2 months) with mostly second hand parts except power supply and casing.
i5 3470 (2nd hand)
Biostar B75MU3B (2nd hand)
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600mhz (2nd hand)
Western Digital 1TB Blue (2nd hand)
Gigabyte GTX760 Windforce (2nd hand)
EVGA 450W BT (Amazon)
Tecware F3

psu is it set as 230W setting?

next another possbile issues could be the gpu not enough power or mobo have issues.

Do note that it also shut down while watching youtube and other non intensive stuff.

just get a mobo replacement, high chance is mobo issue. can try to remove graphics card and use integrated graphics to test it out too.

Try remove the gpu and use the onboard graphics only. If still experience random shut then maybe failing motherboard.

Power draw 170, recommended 500 psu. So its inline with that article.

Anyway ts just try onboard for the time being, to isolate if the problem lies with other parts as mentioned by other.

UPDATE

PC all of a sudden unable to turn on.
No respond when power button is press. CPU fan did not spin at all.

Removed all the connection.
Did a paper clip test.

PSU fan spin for a sec and turn off then repeats.
Highly suspect PSU internal part got shorted.
Did not encounter any odd smell or explosion from PC.

My computer had random reboot problem, to a point that it will not start up at all.

After some trial and error replacing part by part. Culprit turns out to be the PSU. Not a single reboot problem after changing that. Maybe you can get a replacement PSU to try.

UPDATE 2

What i did so far

Replaced new power supply
Removed Graphic card
Removed all external port (USB, Audio/Mic port) and case fan connected to mobo. Left case panel open.
Reset everything to default in Bios.

Still experience random auto shut down problem.
There is once where it shows CMOS failure.

Most likely the motherboard issue?

Try reformat the HDD/SDD otherwise maybe MOBO / CPU might have problem already cause that was what happen to my alienware..

Random shutdown/reboot is usually psu, ram or mobo. I had this problem twice on 2 different rigs, first one was ram, 2nd one was psu so you might want to check your ram first if your psu got no problem.

Probably bad MB, though you might want to try replacing the CMOS battery first.
