I mean not true for this parts. My English also CMI & maybe more worse then you (^^")

Forgot the requirements for JCC,thinks it ippt, soc, and survival training in camp and tekong.

In a way,JCC is like a mini ranger without the points system and higher demand of Ranger.

Which is what i meant what:s13: I said Ranger need infantry backgrd then can apply, does not apply for JCC. Not applicable to JCC. My ang moh rusty

Not true. It is open to all as long as you have the Trainee Pre-requisites.

Trainee Pre-requisites

He/She must clear an FFI prior to attending the course. To meet its physical demands, the candidate must have attained at least the IPPT Silver Awards standards within the year prior to the commencement of the course. As the course involves certain river crossing training, it is preferred that all candidates be able to swim at least 50m in any stroke. No other admission criteria is imposed. However, all trainees are advised to prepare themselves physically for the course.

There are 2 types of JCC course. 1st type is JCC is part of SCS & OCS Infantry course. 2nd type belong to open group. I think there are point system because this video show how Assessor give points to OCT in their JCC.

Haha not sure if JCC=guards but quite sure the open course JCC can't be compared.

OCS JCC another ball game from open course. Different intensity.. Same for guards conversion, got different standards for men, sarg or occifer..

I feel GCC for commanders is way tougher than JCC. Even all my officers friends who went through the same course as me said so. As for ranger course, it's tough. You need to be fit, master in navigation and survival skills, strong in the will. Enough said, only when you go through it then you will know how it feels like

yes CDO NSF cannot even go, otherwise the fella's NSF time is all about being a trainee, or rather not following the training plan, otherwise I would have gone for a airborne just to get my uniform filled.

btw, you must be a CPL and above to join.

from what I have gathered from sharings, it is both individual and group, mental and physical challenges.

when you are still in sg, they will force feed you, that you must finish your food in the cookhouse, then when over at Thailand they will starve you.

u r wrong, 100% wrong. NSFs can go. I orded from CDO 1.5 years ago. and during my time. There were NSFs who were full-fledged rangers. Y? cos CDO NSFs are split into Alpha (JC batch) and Bravo (poly batch). We bravo enlist earlier, more time to train for Atec, Alpha enlist later and chiong their training for Atec with us. Once atec completed in around Feb-Apr. We bravo usually ORD in May, while Alpha ORD around later Nov-Dec. Their only main focus now is the NDP (its always the alpha batch+some junior bravo), or those "fit" enough can choose to go for ranger course. It is not that tough, it's just like our CDO CSLC (our spec course), alot of Charlie Mike (continue mission) just that not enough slp, food, etc. more tekan.. Hard truth =)

I just came back from Brunei JCC a week ago. Go into OCS first and experience JCC. If you really like it consider to sign on. BMT outfield is like resort, Brunei Jungle is totally different - unforgiving and punishing. NSF can go Ranger course. Depends on whether your OC/CO will allow you to.
