You could open a shop for modders in the forum haha I’m sure will have a decent amount of business! The honey comb pattern is really something seeing that Lian Li is also incorporating it in their designs in certain cases too

Not water jet not CNC although I own a small CNC machine. This was cut using my MIC 6040 laser engraving/cut machine for a client building a prototype nano material machine. This is the back panel for 3 panel mount USB ports and hot air exhausted in honeycomb cut out and also the main A/C power socket.

I tried water jet but not really good for acrylic because the pressure and stress will break the thin wall of the honey comb structure. There are lots of ultra fine scratches on the glossy finish of the acrylic due to the travel of the abrasive present in the water and abrasive mixture. Although cutting acrylic doesn't need the abrasive in the water but no one will ever bother to specifically change the feed source to pure water just to entertain once a while small order. Water jet is great for hard material like marble, granite and metals but not for acrylic sheet.

I paid less than $120 for my Phanteks P400S and that came with TG side panel and RGB lighting.

That said, it's OP's money and so long as he is happy .... However, do get the cabling done properly. No point having a custom side panel so that he can look at some ugly cabling.

No doing any case mod at this point in time. I bought the machine for building prototype for my research and help friends and clients with their prototype building.

It might look easy and simple but it wasn't the case for peoples not in the manufacturing industry. Co2 Laser cut machine work best with vector file, typical Coreldraw .cdr file and not dwg from AutoCad or converted dwg file from Solidworks. When the dwg file imported to the LaserCad software, a square or rectangle will end up with 2 vertical and 2 horizontal lines, square/rectangle with chamfer and rounded corner is even worst, it will end up with 4 straight line and 4 arc or lines at 45 degree which cause problems executing the cutting path. A square or rectangle from Coreldraw cdr file is a perfect closed figure, All the dwg files I received from clients need to redraw using Coreldraw especially figure like square/rectangle/polygon etc...., time consuming and extra work needed to ensure the part cut perfectly with minimum thermal distortion.

The root of the problem is not many people in the manufacturing industry are using Coreldraw, most of them are using AutoCad, ,Solidworks, Siemens NX or MasterCam. For case modder without any technical background, I can't imagine what type of file I would I would get. Some friends gave me pdf and ppt files with colourful picture for cutting the acrylic ....

I would say wrong choice. $100 could have easily get you a modern case with all black painted interior, proper airflow and layout, no sharp edges which was standard with old cases and a solid tempered glass.

my casing steel insides wud have rusted badly by now

tbh if my parts dun require much airflow like his, i wudn't change casing either
but i wun spend $100 on TAT...!!

Can I ask how much u paid for your cnc machine and where u got it from?
