No doing any case mod at this point in time. I bought the machine for building prototype for my research and help friends and clients with their prototype building.
It might look easy and simple but it wasn't the case for peoples not in the manufacturing industry. Co2 Laser cut machine work best with vector file, typical Coreldraw .cdr file and not dwg from AutoCad or converted dwg file from Solidworks. When the dwg file imported to the LaserCad software, a square or rectangle will end up with 2 vertical and 2 horizontal lines, square/rectangle with chamfer and rounded corner is even worst, it will end up with 4 straight line and 4 arc or lines at 45 degree which cause problems executing the cutting path. A square or rectangle from Coreldraw cdr file is a perfect closed figure, All the dwg files I received from clients need to redraw using Coreldraw especially figure like square/rectangle/polygon etc...., time consuming and extra work needed to ensure the part cut perfectly with minimum thermal distortion.
The root of the problem is not many people in the manufacturing industry are using Coreldraw, most of them are using AutoCad, ,Solidworks, Siemens NX or MasterCam. For case modder without any technical background, I can't imagine what type of file I would I would get. Some friends gave me pdf and ppt files with colourful picture for cutting the acrylic ....
