To those using RP2, overclock it and you'll find the video very smooth.
I've been using OSMC and overclock in turbo mode, very nice video.

HI All,

I am a new comer to learn Raspberry Pi2 model B, while waiting for my raspberry Pi to arrive, i need to do some self learning. One of the concern I notice my monitor connection is VGA connection, and DVI connection. I am using my VGA for my external laptop display. Do i need to buy new connection?

Please share with me:
1) To learn more on raspberry Pi
2) How to overcome the monitor issue.

Thank you.

regards,Mok

RPI 1/2 support HDMI or Composite Video. Any other video connection will require an adapter.

Thanks I finally read through this whole thread. One problem I see is that the SD card seems to get corrupted quite easily.

How often does it happen for everyone and is it avoidable/reduced with good practice or brand? If corrupted can the the SD card be reused as I don't want to buy a new SD card everytime it gets corrupted!

Never happened to me since I got the Pi few months back. If corrupted, just re-format and reinstalled.

That's incorrect. I have never got my SD card damaged or corrupted via any of my PIs.

You may have understood wrongly. My understanding is if you buy your SD card from taobao, very likely the SD card is faulty, I have bad experience from my SD card purchased from taobao. Never buy SD card from taobao, buy it from Giant or Fairprice instead.

Dear all,

Own a raspberry Pi 2 model b. Looking for breadboard, jumper, some diode,LED and resistor to learn some programming. I intend to go to SIM LIM tower to shop this part, prefer these in bundle as I am not really a electronic person. I did some browsing on some estore, still prefer physical shop.

Any experience or shop to share.

thank you.

Think Sim Lim Square has more shops selling electronics components.
