if it's true, the best deal ever!
but my hunch is it's a typo, it must be the alarmingly hot gtx870m version

You can get it for 2.4k on lazada so the discount isn't really that much. Still it's a highly reviewed laptop for gaming, though no laptop can beat desktop in terms of price performance ratio for gaming.

Just check, lazada price is 2499, $400 different is still alot.

I'm looking to purchase a personal laptop, budget best is below 2k.

Using for everything, gaming, work, media etc.
Currently focusing on this Razer @2099 and ux303 @1450, looking for advice.

I thinking gt840 is enough for basic gaming and I save alot with ux303. Razer is more future proof and allow me to upgrade to 16gm too.

My personal recommendation is not to get a gaming laptop since they usually heat up fast, which lowers the lifespan of the components (unless you always use it in air-con environment). Plus they are bulky and have poor battery life. If you only do light gaming, the dell xps is a good choice for windows and macbook air is an excellent portable choice (I used it myself for office and photoshop), macbook pro if you do more intensive photoshop or video editing.

Thks. I think so too that why Im also considering ux303.
However, not forgeting razor weight is reasonable considering its graphical performance.
I'm not a mac user so its out and hmm... I like xps, but is too expensive.

Contrary to popular belief, the macbook air makes a great windows laptop with bootcamp. I have friends using it with no complaints with pure windows 7 os. The pro will have some problem due to resolution scaling.

I have a couple of friends who have very bad experience with asus zenbook, it gets slow and laggy over time and filled with bloatware.
