E.g all of a sudden num button 4 will not work, and each time time it is different button. Sometimes, it will be a few button not working together. The num button not working are the ones on top of the alphabet, so dun suggest me to turn on the num lock ^_^

Troubleshooting done are:
Connecting the keyboard to another system, same problem happen.

Uhm , i have the same problem as him and sometimes my media panel goes haywire and my songs keep shuffling on random.

So is it possible for me to RMA my lycosa mirror?

edit : Is this problem only affecting some of the lycosa models or a whole lot of it?
edit2: I bought it from Sim Lim , so it is applicable for RMA??

1800 is enough for most fps players...
Deathadder 3G - 1800dpi - best sensor of all razer mice
Deathadder 3.5G - 3500dpi - Much cheaper version of Mamba
Mamba - 5600dpi - Can u handle 5600dpi ? I'm still skeptical about wireless.

i have the mamba, but not using for gaming... not suitable for my style of play. but overall cool mouse - i use it as a display most of the time :D

Keycaps

Hi Dennis,

Is it possible to replace the keys on my lycosa (non-mirror) with the ones from mirror edition?

How much would that cost (per key cap or per set) if it were possible?

I feel that it is quite a waste to throw away that keyboard, but the keys are peeling off and feeling sticky.

Really hope something can be done about them.

Regards,
Gerald

Looks like every Lycosa user is having the same issue here. :(

Maybe can feedback to Razer, ask them to ship some mirror keys over. :D

Hi Everyone!

I'm a Razer user too! :)

Razer DeathAdder 1800DPI Mouse (The old version)
Razer Lycosa Keyboard

And I must say, I've been pretty satisfied with the feel and the looks of both products.

haha, thanks denniszz for the replacement keys..
sorry to interupt ur meeting too.
really thanks alot. now i can continue using my 2 yr old lycosa without changing keyboard..

anyyway guys, anyone tried to mod the backlight to 5V?
i modded mine to 5V, directly draw power from Molex Connector.
Now the backlight is much better, can see at 45 degree viewing angle too.
only thing is cannot off the light via the touch panel, but that wasnt a problem since i always leave it on anyway

Well i realised the lycosa is supplying only 3.7V or less to the LEDS, making it very dim. Since each LED has its own resistor, we can safely up the voltage abit. So i played around and decided 5V is best. Have tried 7V but the leds get too hot and can shorten the lifespan. 12V is DEFINITELY A NO. 12V WILL KILL YOUR LEDS IN MATTER OF SECONDS.
procedure is quite easy. things you need are just :

1x molex to 3pin fan adaptor, looks like this one: http://www.dtekcustoms.com/ProductImages/products/addons/3-4 pin.jpg
1m long Black/Red wire (to wire the light to the molex connector),
Some tape, (best is electrical tape)
some screwdrivers and a scissors.
Do note that this mod voids the warranty, needless to say. My kb is long out of warranty so i went and mod it.
First u just have to dissassemble the keyboard.
guide to dissasemble here:
http://www.artage.de/2008/03/10/razer-lycosa-problems-and-how-to-fix-them/

now, after u dissasemble, unplug the Black and red cable connecting to the 2pin socket for the light, as shown in pic on step 6 of the above guide.
Next get ur molex to fan adaptor, and mod the molex cable to 5V to the fans, a guide to how to do this is here:
http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=372297
but take note, the above guide is not using molex to 3 pin adaptor, if you use adaptors, the final product should look like this:
Photo0319.jpg

WARNING! Make sure you have modded to 5V!! Double check to see if it work by connecting a 3pin fan to it and observing the rpm. Should be very low rpm. IF U DO THIS WRONGLY AND SUPPLY A HIGH VOLTAGE, THE LEDS WILL BURN OUT AND DIE!!

Now, cut the 3 pins socket away from the adaptor, and use the 1m long Red and black wire to lengten it so that it can reach your keyboard. To do this just cut the socket away and join the wire to the cut part, then join the other end of the wire to the socket. do for both black and red wires.
Join the wires by intertwining both wires together. Make sure they dont come off easily too.
Remember to insulate the joined parts. I do this by wrapping the joined part with electric tape.
Then now, all you have to do is pplug the light into the fan adaptor socket, and you are done.

Final product:

this is a half-assed mod but well it still works :)
