I believe you are referring to new car?
If so, are you at KM or TC when you asked about NOTE vs Jazz?
How can the same salesman, be commenting on different between Nissan & Honda?

Anyway all these are a guideline.
(+/-) abit here & there ba due to driving habit, road condition & traffic and most important your left foot lo =p

If you want accurate de and start going around marking everyone's words.

Hhhhmmmmm don't make your life so difficult ba; as some mentioned here to go take public transport(bus/mrt) as the fares is standard in black & white.
Will not lugi de.

Jazz saleperson say can 18km/L , same as brochure --> real?
Note salesperson say about 16km/L, brochure says 20km/L --> real?
Toyota prius c salesperson say 23-28-km/L , same as brochure --> real?

If FC is your main consideratiom for purchase.
Go for Toyota Prius, as even if it off by alot more, it should be better than Jazz & Note ba.

Hope I am answering to your questions of any, as I don't know are you referring to Car's real FC or salesman's words to be believed.
Lolol

If the recent incident...
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/cars-cars-204/mitsubishi-motors-says-cheated-mileage-tests-25-years-5355130.html#post101055384

Is affecting you.
You are the salesman also no use, they based on spec to sell you the car as it is de.

You can call up Nissan, KM, BM's directors to check with them to see if they will to guarantee you on the recommended FC stated?

Between the selling of my 3rd car and buying of my current (4th) car, I carried-on-installment on 1 of my former-colleague's cars for awhile, a Hyundai Getz 1.6L manual. I drove it pretty lightfooted and strictly Point-A-to-Point-B, no whacking whatsoever.

I told him I usually drive till about 450km before I pump full tank again. He looked at me in disbelief and said he can't even get 400km before the yellow light goes on :s13: :s13: :s13:

At the end of the day, how good or how bad your FC is still depends on your right foot ;)

Usually the highway figures are quite realistic, for example my Volvo's brochure said 24km/l but I can average 25km/l quite easily on a long trip from Tampines to Tuas. Urban cycle figures are a bit optimistic, but usually you won't be more than 20% away from the claimed figure. Unless there's really a huge jam. Sometimes I turn off the car at red lights when I know that it'll take a while.

No sales person will say their car has worse fc than paper. Don't believe in lip service.

Whoa!
No wonder you looking at Nissan Leaf:s11:

Haha. Every dollar adds up. Now I'm pumping Diesel at Smart Energy to save a few dollars. :s13:

Actually my sales person did say not to believe the figures. It's quite hard to achieve but it should be possible to hit 80% of the claimed fuel economy.

The thing is, the stated FC is a range aka estimated reading?
How will everyone be driving in the same manner?
Even if similiar, will every take the same routes, etc etc etc.

Plus the strength of our right foot work differently tio bo?

Always take the brochure FC figure and minus 20-30% for real-world figure..

Huh? What are you trying to say? I didn't claim that the quoted FC is absolutely correct.
