On platforms or standalone website? What advantage do you have?
Many ppl have turned to shopping online for the convenience and price competitiveness as opposed to buying in physical shops

That is not a good enough preposition to ensure sales.
Yes ofc one has to have an edge over other online businesses to ensure sales but I'm just referring to an advantage that generally online businesses have over non-online businesses... oh and then there is also the price competitivess that online businesses have

Amazon sg launched and came and jiak my profits margin. Last time can earn cause I split the shipping to sg and earn cause no need pay gst for shipping less than $400.

So pple buy from me cause I selling a specific calculator only can be used for an exam in uni. And they urgent. Now Amazon sg also ship almost same timing as me.

If you have an unique branded product that you hold distributorship right, be it exclusive or non-exclusive, sales are more or less guaranteed.

However, an OEM type of product is not that easy. Competition is stiff. Price competitiveness is a serious disadvantage as a retailer.

Even if an online retailer saves on rental and manpower costs, without business volume, their costs are already higher than their own competitors. How to sell at a competitive pricing?

Not discounting logistical issues.
