Hmm but STI only dropped 1.2% yesterday.. compared to other markets 3%
Furthermore SG is very sensitive to China & US, and both of them lao sai..

It is experiencing a bit of a risk reset from this morning, post blod bath. can see it from currencies too.

US 10y treasury yield bounced off 3 yr lows which got slammed. Still too early.

then there's sth about a vaccine thingy. and donald trump talking dn the virus.

It is trying to build a solid base.

So downside is going to be minimal.

The 10y UST yield is the market to watch and if the yield is flat or down, I would not read too much into any bounce in equity markets. Oil prices would be the other macro variable along with Gold.

STI is not volatile so movements would be muted. But it looks like a case of up 0.5% and down 0.8%. STI cannot escape the general malaise inflicting the overall market.

STI is no longer the STI prior to 2007. Participants are different; less active funds and components stocks are much heavier on REITS which are sought more by income seekers than those growth seeking investors.
