I like to see what motherboard it is? and os 64bit or 32bit?

when installing this mods, i'm using win7 32bit, the sound feels different.
more brighter than before..
the problem is i cannot use the xfi launcher, because 'no audio supported'.

maybe i should changes for 64? :s22:

anyway modv2 driver for 64bits driver, for creative driver you can choose not to install too

can you make a tutorial how to mod drivers your self? so i can have r2.67 v1 plus xfi mb1. or can you make modded r2.67 without those movie/music/game extras it really ruwens the sound because they are for alc88x/260. and i need x fi mb1 because my alc892 is not THX technology and EAX5.0.

i think you messed up your v2 release's

please create a clean modded r2.67, with some creative xfi mb1 if you can. specialy for non EAX5.0 and THX motherboards.by me with xfi mb2 the sound is not clear as it was with original xfi mb from asrock.i would buy it if i could but i dont have a credit card.:s11:

I'm confused you tried
Modded V2 = Problem
RealTek Modded V2 = Working

As this is using realtek drivers anyway and they are modded version 2, surely it's the same damn thing :look:

I know it's the same, I'm saying x-fi is not working with realtek modded v2 beta or stable, But realtek modded v2 is working well, So I'm using only using realtek modded v2 without x-fi.

It works!!!!!!

Like some people using ALC888S, I had problems with installation, specifically by using the Asus setup provided.

After doing everything, it had the "select another audio device" problem.

This happens because windows somehow reverts to using the default drivers instead of using the Realtek drivers.

So what I did was go msconfig and select diagnostic startup, and press okay and restart.

After that go to the place where I have extracted the files downloaded. The folder is called "Realtek High Definition Audio X-Fi Mod R2.66"

In that folder, went to Driver and selected Setup.exe, then there is popup to install unsigned drivers and pressed okay and then restarted.

After that, ensure that "Realtek High Definition Audio" is under the Device manager. At this point sound is not available as service is not running. So go msconfig and choose normal startup and restart, and everything works!

I'll try your way and I hope it will work :)

Can't seem to get the X-Fi working, sound is all messed up and most of the options that came with 2.67 version are greyed out and dont work. Have already tried to reinstall twice but no dice.

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 with a ALC889A chip.

Anyone facing problems with the sampling rate?
I have Realtek ALC269 (With the R2.67 mod 2 driver) and when I try to play something with the sampling rate set at 44100Hz on the Sound, under the Control Panel, the sound comes terrible! Like, noises, static, everything mixed to the music!
But when I try to change the Sample Rate to 96000Hz, I receive an error and it stops working becaming muted.
Otherwise, when I disable all the optimizations, under the third tab, the music starts playing fine, but all the suite (THX, SRS, X-FI, everything) is grayed out and I can't use them!

Thoughts???

Gonna try the R2.66 v1 modded driver now... Wish me luck!

(Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Brazil and I'm relatively new to all this Forum thing... :))

Well, R2.66 worked only the X-Fi part... THX says "No compatible card found blablabla"...
Hope that R2.67 get a fix for that... IDK, maybe a workaround...
'Cuz R2.67 has SO many buttons! I wanna try it out! =D

ok, how do i unlock THX and maybe EAX 5.0 on a ALC892 then? some alc982 mainboards are THX technology some are blu ray content protection. or isnt that posible because of the hardware it self.:(

and your driver is actualy the only one that works with x fi for me. with other older modded drivers x fi doesnt detect it.

Also, is it possible to get THX TruStudio Pro working with that chip as currently it says that it can't find any supported device?

Realtek hardware itself can't support EAX5.0, even official driver didn't enable EAX support too.

only this modded driver enable EAX on the hardware.
realtek chip itself only support up to EAX 4.0

you don't need to enable bu-ray content, because if the audio hardware able to reach the blu-ray audio quality.

Realtek ALC 892 can output blu-ray audio quality

So I got the driver working properly and it does improve sound quality, bass and also my surround is working properly, but I still want to know if it is possible to get THX TruStudio Pro working on the ALC889A chip.
Anyone?

Yeah, any Updates on that?

I'm sill interested, too.

That happens because your computer did not install the Realtek driver and reverts back to the default driver.

Do not uninstall anything. instead of running asus setup, run the other setup provided inside one of the folder.

Yes, Only first X-Fi Mod R2.66 worked for me but now it's not working too, Maybe there is problem with windows and I need to reinstall windows, So the problem could be from my side :D
When I reinstall windows I'll try again and tell you the result.
