Reapplying to Uni

Hello guys! I wanted some advice so I am posting here. Among the universities I was accepted into last year, I thought the SMU course was the best for me and I chose that. However, in the subsequent months, I realised it was not suitable for me and I withdrew after finishing one semester. This year, I will be reapplying to the same NTU course I got into last year. I am wondering if I will be automatically rejected just on the basis of the fact that I rejected them last year. Just to clarify, the NTU course was my passion but the SMU course was more financially lucrative and that's why I chose it. Will they give me a chance to explain my poor choices? Just to clarify, I got decent grades in SMU so I do have proof that I am somewhat academically competent. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Do note that you will have to pay one FULL semester of fees. The tuition grant will not cover it since you used up one semester's worth.
