for business this is what you need:

- full size keyboard
- Windows over mac (if you are taking a lot of financing classes) bc excel is better in Windows (ur professors will use the win version which is diff to)
- long battery life and portable

the only problem is the full size keyboard but u can buy an external numerical pad.

if ur taking marketing and not many financial/accounting classes, then u can use a mac otherwise stick with windows.

To deal with excel and all the plugins/heavy spreadsheets 8GB RAM would be nice and stay away from celeron/atom/pentium processors preferably core i3 or i5 if possible.

That's all you need.

Shouldn't be hard to find a core i3 8gb ram laptop or core i5 at a reasonable price.

How about the dell inspiron check the models available where you live.

acer aspire e15 is good too but it's a little heavy (5lb).

Portability is going to cost a lot ! depends on your budget.

any cheaper alternativ?

Why not get the laptop at your school's roadshows. You can feel and test it out before buying.
The vendors also offer lower prices than normal at these roadshows.
