as title states. ummm budget wise should be below $150 pref.

is it possible to get 2tb for that price? else 1tb is alright. But 2tb preferred.

my current external hard drive has 138 bad sectors so i need to start considering getting a new drive:(

thanks!

You can get Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB Portable External Hard Drive for USD70 currently at Amazon. If you are able to add other stuff to USD125, you get free shipping. Or topang some other's cart.

Amazon has the cheapest drives. You could get a 4TB one for under $150 there.

Just bought an 8TB HDD from Amazon as the price difference between Amazon and cheapest Singapore seller is $100.

I usually buy Samsung 2TB ext HDD. Can be purchased at $135 at SLS Bizgram at level 5.
Since Seagate has bought over Samsung's ext HDD, it is now rebranded as Maxtor. But packaging, and HDD design exactly like its old self.

I have a total of 7 now dating back to 3 years ago. None of them failed.

As for my 2 WD drives, 1 of them failed in less than 2 years.

So you know why I keep on buying the Samsung/Maxtor drives for many many years.

Edit: Wow. wwenze's price is fantastic! Though I am hesitant to get any bigger sized drives in case of failure where I'll lose a lot more data, it is still priced really well. Hmm... Thanks for sharing that as well! Appreciate it.
