Looking at water villa with pte pool, preferably with at least half board and budget ard 4 to 5 k.

Water villas are about 700-1000usd on average per night. Can budget accordingly and factor in the air/sea transfer from Male Airport.

Hotel and food. Flights probably only form 15-20% of the entire budget.

First off, grats on tying the knot!

4-5k is actually quite doable if you do not factor in the air tickets.

Most resorts actually have the honeymoon package with a minimum stay of 4 nights and they do throw in some freebies. A lot of travel agencies also have tie-ups with many of these resorts and as a result, customers tend to enjoy better prices than booking the resort and flight separately.

Went to Baros Maldives in 2009 and visiting Kurumba again this coming June. Reviews are generally good for both these resorts so you can try them.

Tip: Do some research first, some resorts cater to mass market from a certain *ahem* country, so if you value some peace for your honeymoon, research wisely
