Recomended Notebook <$1.4K

Hi,

Can anyone recmmend a good notebook that cost <S$1.4K for work? Now looking at Sony, ASUS, TOSHIBA, HP & Samsung. Below is require specs:

1) I5 or I7,
2) 15.6"
3) 8G RAM,
4) at least 750G HD
5) Weight <2.35kg or as light as possible,
6) DVD drive.

your work requires heavily secured laptop or not? like specifically business notebook or just for daily usage? for business notebooks you can consider Toshiba's Portege series or Lenovo's ThinkPad series. Dependent on specific requirements like mobility or security... I believe both can match it.

looking at 15.6" with DVD drive, definitwly will tip the 2kg scale or near it...

if integrated graphic is more than enough for you, you can look at Lenovo, Asus, Acer and even MSI. Toshiba Protege series maybe out of your budget range as its their highend product line

Mine is for daily usage. Tried Dell and Acer in the past which give me quite bad experience on its quality.

Think of HP, Sony, ASUS or Toshiba.

sony and toshiba would defo be more ex due to their japanese build quality... can consider them if you have the extra budget like what henabi said.

Asus has been rather consistent as well in terms of quality. maybe can try out their vivo or zen book (also quite ex!)
