as title above, am planning to buy a 4TB HDD cause only have 1 more sata 3 port available.

4TB is more value for money compared to buying 2TB x 2 right :s11:

WD green warranty 2 yrs right? did u happen to see how much WD black 4TB is priced at? around ~$310?

is WD green more than sufficient in terms of performance as compared to WD black if im only using it for storage of video files?

saw WD purple too, any comments on this?

lastly, psu should be sufficient to handle the addition of a 4TB HDD right? current rig can be seen at profile.

WD HDD differentiate difference through colour, it is advisable to use green for storage purpose as it consume less power, quiet and it has No Touch Ramp Load technology...

I understand the different colors stand for different purpose. Read up on NTRL tech, meaning if im using my pc but not accessing the drive it is as good as sleeping or something? Are there any disadvantages to this? For eg. Accessing the drive suddenly and the drive takes longer to load?

How about the reliability of wd green? Since warranty is only 2 or 3yrs, im hoping my hdds can at least last for 5yrs or so..

warranty i am not sure, but can always check with the distributor. So far my current hdd (WD green) inside my PC last for abut 6 years... still going strong.

Accessing the drive suddenly wouldn't lag much, you won't even feel it. So far the latest HDD i buy is to back up my "back up". Meaning i already have existing HDD 3 TB (WD Green) to back up my PC files, the new 4TB (WD green) is to serve as a back up of the back up incase my current 3TB HDD fail. I can't bear to lose all my previous video/movie files..lol
