Any rendering ?Is a i7 with 16GB ram with a gtx1060 enough?
Thanks
For Autocad I'd recommend Ryzen. The more threads the better.
AutoCAD is single-threaded (legacy software issue), so getting a CPU chip with high core count would be the best. Something like the i7-7700k. 16GB RAM will be sufficient, 32GB RAM to play safe (although not needed). For 2D AutoCAD, integrated graphics more than enough. Once move into 3D realm for AutoCAD, a basic Nvidia or AMD card will do as performance of GPU acceleration does not scale well with GPU price particularly in AutoCAD.
Can help to recommend the parts for 3d first? Thanks

Single threaded contradicts saying a high core count is best. You mean high clock speed?
I built a 6 core 12 thread for my contractor friend and his rendering took 3 hours.Yes got rendering
I built a 6 core 12 thread for my contractor friend and his rendering took 3 hours.
After that built 2x xeon E2670 (8 core 16 thread) with gtx1060 6GB, then there is no turning back. His autocad rendering now is now below 1/2 hr.
If you need rendering go for more core. Unfortunately spent about 3k.

wah so u mean that now autocad (latest) can use multi core?
yes i do agree with enyi on previously they are on heavey single thread with higher clock speed benefit.
