For Autocad I'd recommend Ryzen. The more threads the better.

AutoCAD is a single thread software, how does multi threaded processor contribute to better computing with the code of AutoCad being single thread at it kernel?

A car designed for single lane can run beyond the vehicle top speed when driving down a multi lane road?

All these while my friend have been running Autocad from 4 core(intel) to 6 core (AMD) to 6C12T (intel) then current 2x 8C16T. Every time he renders, all CPU runs at 100%, no matter how many core.

Lets just be clear.

Found this from Autodesk Knowledge Network: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Support-for-multi-core-processors-with-AutoCAD.html

To summarize: AutoCAD and AutoCAD for Mac will only support multi-core technology, only if u use 2D regeneration and/or MentalRay rendering. Else AutoCAD will behave like a single-threaded application.

Until today 2017, Autocad is still mainly a single threaded application.

While it is a Single thread operation, it used up all the cores you have in the system. Especially when you runs rendering, it just goes up 100%. So the more core your have the faster you get the job done.

You have to experience it yourself. I don't have any explanation why is it so.
