Recommend a laptop for around 1k

Hi,

My dad wants to replace his 5 year old Dell laptop.
At this point he only needs it for basic MS Office applications, surfing the internet, and occasional Zoom meetings etc.

I would say his max budget is about $1,300.
Screen Size needs to be a minimum of 14".
Minimum 500GB HDD cos he saves alot of documents/photos on the HDD that sync back to his dropbox.
Would need to have local warranty for ease of support.

I'm pretty out of touch with current notebook costs and hardware specs.
Could I get some recommendations from the wise men/women of this forum ?

whats wrong with his current one? 6th gen laptop has same performance as 10th gen laptop. only 11th gen has better integrated graphics. 12th gen has jump in performance

His previous laptop was a i5-5200u and 4GB Ram. In the last couple of years it was extremely laggy probably due to insufficient RAM. It had other intermittent issues as well but the display is no longer working now so he wants to replace it with a new unit.
