I think this is going to be overkill..but oh well,

looking for a new rig for my dad

Requirements

- watch show, surf net
- able to support 32" LED TV
- need OS
- perhaps a good audio?
- Casing must remain cool and silent
- good and lasting (that explain the budget)

Do not need

- SSD
- Monitor
- Keyboard, mouse

budget $2000 (this is where the overkill part is) any recommendation? looking to build at PCThemes.

@MyNextcom

the on board Audio is decent enough for movies.

an i3 will handle movies just fine.

you don't even need $2000 for this.

Honestly your budget seems too much.

If you insist on Haswell then

Asrock H81M DGS + i3 4130 ~ $218
ADATA 4gb 1600mhz ~ $45
WD Blue 1tb ~ $78
CM311 Chassis + FSP Hexa 500w ~ $105
Samsung ODD ~ $21
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM ~$115

Total ~ $582 Buy at tradepac DIY
