Recommend a rig for 3D rendering

Hey guys, looking to get a new rig soon for 3D rendering work. I only do a little gaming so I plan to reuse my old gpu. I dont plan on overclocking too.
Been doing a little research on prices around and here's my thought so far:

CPU + Mobo: Asrock B85m Pro + i7-4770 ~ $474
PSU: FSP Aurum 550w Platinum ~ $125
RAM: Geil Evo Veloce C9 1866MHz 16GB ~ $190
HDD: Seagate 2TB ~ $107
Samsung ODD ~ $21

Total: $917 so far. Budget is around $1.2k

Only thing I'm not sure is the PSU, is there a better recommendation?
I don't really require a casing, already have one, just need to get some motherboard standoff screws... Neither do I need an OS.

He gonna reuse his old gpu and case. Not sure how is he gonna transfer OS from his old com to new.

As for PSU, since you not gonna use a lot of power, can just use Superflower HX500W at <$100. What gpu are u using?

As for rams, no need 1866mhz, not much benefits. get kingston value rams 4x4gb will do.

Can consider MSI B85M G43 as they are using pci-e 1x slots as compared to pci legacy slots on the asrock mobo.

What casing do you have?

If i were you i throw in an SSD for overall better OS performance.

WD Green 2tb ~ $106
Plextor M5S 128gb ~ $128
Samsung ODD ~ $21
Superflower HX500 500w 80+ Gold ~ $88

Total ~ $996. Buy at tradepac. DIY

Can even buy a 250gb SSD if you want a US set SSD. Probably its time to change the chassis also if you want.

Yup reusing my gtx465 gpu but I'm gonna reinstall windows. I was planning to get either the MSI mobo or the Asrock one depending on whichever have stock, but i guess i will lean towards MSI now.

As for rams I wanna get 8x2gb because I might wanna upgrade to 32gb, as for the speed I only chose those because they are cheaper

My current casing is actually built by one of my friend, not a full tower just standard atx.

FYI, you cant just reinstall OS from old com to new com as it is tied to your old com. I believe it is OEM? If it is retail ver, then it is possible. Otherwise, you have to get new OS.

Yup its retail version, bought it when I got my last com 2 years ago. Still windows 7 though, don't really have a reason to upgrade to win8 right now.

Tradepac loh. They selling 8gb at $89 each.

The more should get an SSD. OS and Software loading benefits from SSDs.

Your frenz aint knowledgable enough or only have half-baked knowledge. Your OS/software = user experience when using the system. Boot up times are very fast, <15s compared to >30s on hdd, programs get loaded faster. Last thing you need is to wait for your program to load/save if it is running in HDD and you have to force close it if it takes too long.

Nope. Use stock intel cooler will do.
