Hi, recently I found out that my WD 2TB Black has been running slow. So slow that even opening of programs also take some time. I used HDTune and found out that I had like 120000+ of Ultra DMA CRC Error Count. I changed the sata cable and for a day or two the count doesn't increase. Possible to RMA the drive and any recommendation for 2TB HDD use for both OS and storage? FYI: HDD is still under warranty

You can create RMA request without providing any fault info, they don't care. you send it in, they only check for physical damage. if its accepted, a replacement will be issued, most likely, a refurbished drive--used.

If a new cable solved the issue, you don't really need to RMA it.

TS, you better do a error (uncheck quick scan) scan of the whole hard disk before you conclude it is fine.

Performance and health in HD Sentinel Pro shows 100% except for communication problem between disk and host which is the error for ultra dma crc error count. Any difference if I use HDTune to do a full scan instead?
