His budget sub $1000.. best if can below $1000.

No need monitor, mouse and keyboard.

Basically normal LOL, DOTA2, CSGO.

Any recommendations?

Don't really follow much tech stuff liao.

Prefer to buy all from tradepac.

For LOL, DOTA2, CSGO, probably don't need 1060? I'll even drop the SSD for a budget build.

Mobo + CPU: GIGABYTE H110M-DS2 DDR4 + i5-6500 $369
HDD: WD Blue 1 TB $67
RAM: Kingston 8GB DDR4 $68
GPU: Zotac GTX 1050 2GB $178
PSU: Seasonic M12-11 520W $119
Case: Any ATX case ~$100
OS: Windows 10 $158 (or via reddit as others mentioned)
Total: $1059 ($901 w/o OS

Not worth it. I rather he get something that has a better price/performance ratio. The 1050 is a crappy card.

Poor choice of psu. Get fsp hexa 450 will do

Can consider getting

[PSU] FSP Hydro 500W Bronze 80+ - $89

For flat cable, easier for cable management in N200, remember to route ur 4+4 pins CPU power through the Mobo cutout.

Cheaper case option
[Case] Tecware F3 - $49

Seasonic PSU is not good nowadays? :s11:

Mine has been serving me for more than 5 years. :s13:

Anyway, I think the TS don't need a SSD as the requirement is just a 'basic gaming rig'.

For 1K build, minimum must have i5 and gtx 1060, SSD this sort of thing later add to build.. just clone over and can use the current HDD as future storage.

SSD is optional because it only affect loading speed, can't say the same for other parts. If want SSD you can save more $$ and get the mx300 750GB from carousell flippers that bought from lazada @ $172. Go offer them ard that price.. because they bought it around 150 after discount. Or you can skip the HDD as well..

Agree on the PSU choice. No need to get top notch PSU.

1050 2GB is more than enough to run those games at 1080 at high/ultra settings? At $178, need to top-up another ~$40 to get 1050 TI 4GB, which is not worth it for those games.

High maybe. Ultra maybe not. I don't think the 1050 is a good card at all. Previously if u participated in the sales, u can get a 1060 at $200 and that's way better.
