Recommend ext bluray reader drive

Hi,

Is there any slim usb3.0 bluray reader cum dvd writer optical drive out there?

Can be bluray reader or writer. But must be usb3.0. Not easy to find especially usb3.0.

I saw a slot in slim design at Challenger recently, not sure if its a USB 3. Cost about $160 there about.

The other one is a Asus brand and it's USB 3 about $200+.

Oh thanks. maybe it's the NEO brand. I saw NEO bluray player cum dvd writer USB3.0 at Funan at $159.

yes, im using this NEO usb 3.0 Blu-ray drive. bought mine from sim lim earlier last month. so far so gd.

Can't watch the BD movies with it; don't think it's the drive problem. Instead, it seems like Windows 8 does not support BD movie playback.

Anyone manage to watch BD movie with this external BD drive successfully, advice?

I hv a internal bluray drive in my desktop. Maybe if free, i may take it out to test it on my Windows 8 laptop then revert here.

Have you try cyberlink's PowerDVD?

I tried with VLC but of no help.

Yet to try that coz I saw that was a paid software. But if PowerDVD is workable, then I may go ahead with it.

hi, may i know why you need a usb3.0 bluray drive? i am also looking for one. cant find any except Neo brand. not sure it is good or not? i am looking for one for my MBP for back up

It's more like a Want than a Need to me. I already have a USB2.0 drive, also hardly use it...
