recommend for pc build

my pc for 8 years has spoil

i am thinking of building a new PC

part that i do not need to get is my computer casing PSU HDD and SSD

part might need to get is graphic card i not too sure what DDR slot which is using

part will get is motherboard ,processor ,ram

do help me list down what part i might be missing out

my pc usage is for some photo editing and sometime video,

surf the net and play some games


Budget wise is about 1.2k

i dont know should i take intel i5 or i7 or even AMD processor

as i noob in pc

i not too sure what parts to get for my new pc

still best that u grab a new case and psu (due to old age, as case my rust and psu might not have enough power to power the entire rigg with psu.)

mostly for photo editing

once awhile video

my casing is quite good i has 1 big fan and 2 or 3 smaller fan

sometime for gaming like initial d etc

if i not wrong my psu is 700w or 750w

i assume should be enough power

You can keep your case, HDD&SSD, PSU, just buy new mobo + CPU + RAM + GPU. AMD Ryzen is a really good choice.

how does sit compare with i5 or i7 series

for the budget wise i really dk how much the mamaboard will cost

the ryzen processors mostly compete with blue side in terms of value for performance. and AMD has committed to keep the AM4 socket motherboard till 2020. it is forward and backward compatible, unlike intel who forces you to change mainboard everytime new cpu comes out. in terms of budget, you would save more on amd side.

You take the risk of an 8 years old PSU to bloom and kill your 3in1 setup!
