I have limited space available on my desk.....

Any good 60% or 68% Mechanical Keyboard to recommend?

Connectivity options not the biggest consideration here since im likely to go wired coz i've had bad experiences with BT and 2.4ghz having intermittent connections

Depends if you wanna just buy off the shelf kind or go down the rabbit hole of building your own keyboard

This just launched yesterday at USD139.99
For the price, this actually seems pretty good?

Don't know about the local pricing, if imports need to also consider shipping fees and the warranty. If the saving is substantial compared to a local Q2 can really consider getting Everest 60.

Don't have first-hand experience with Everest 60, but from the review, there are a lot of factors I will pick Q2 over Everest 60 If the pricing is about the same. Most are subjective, so it may not bother you.
  • Build - Q2 is full metal vs E60 top housing metal bottom plastic.
  • Knobs.
  • The exploded layout of Q2 just feels more comfortable for me. I went from compact 75% to exploded 75%.
  • Aesthetically really love the space grey Q2.
  • Q2 is South-facing RGB led lights, while E60 seems North-facing, which might cause interference with the cherry profile next time when you buy replacement keycaps.

Thanks for the advice
But Q2 abit over the budget for me
Don't really intend to spend >$200 unless its super justified
I have Iqunix and Shurikey on the wishlist too.... guess i'll just gotta pick one at the end of the day =)

i have just ordered the Keychron k8 pro on kickstarter.. hope its good.

the sound on the keyboard in stock seems to sound very nice due to the silicone sound dampener. looks like a keyboard for those who looking for a good prebuilt keyboard without any extra mods. Have that "thock" sound when typing on it.

Wired or wireless with bluetooth v5.1 and can connect up to 3 device simultaneosly
Southfacing per key RGB
Screw in stablisers
PBT OSA keycaps
Plate and Case dampener
VIA and QMK compatible to reprogram any keys on the keyboard (first wireless keyboard to have this feature)

Just get a RK61 from shopee/lazada. Settled. Do you need the extra keys? If yes, then RK68.

Thanks for the recommendation
But don't think i'll go with these ultra low end options:
1) if they are hot swap, i'll end up paying more to change out switches than to just buy a decent keyboard (double job + waste money)
2) if they are not hot swap, i think i'll have to stick to crappy switches until the keyboard dies or i cannot tahan and change out to another keyboard (another round of waste money)

What you describe also will happen to high end keyboard. All are the same.

I use RK100 and I have to say I do agree with you. Got the base board for about 89 or so, then my switches were like $70 or so for not even the full board and after typing for a while... I'm unhappy and want an upgrade to an aluminum or heavier base alr gg... haha because RK no matter what switch you use... it makes it sound very very hollow even after foaming and taping my board :")

just go straight for the good stuff bro

k8 pro considered ok?

i saw youtube reviews that the sound is good due to silicone dampener inside. was actually thinking of k8 pro or Q3.

But Q3 out of the box sound not that nice, still need to mod here and there. prefer prebuilt out of the box ready to use right away.

I currently using Drevo Blademaster Pro. just changed my keycaps from the default ABS caps to a XDA PBT keycaps. The sound actually quite nice already. Blademaster pro is has a aluminium body weighing about 1.4kg and has 3 connectivity modes, wired, 2.4ghz wireless and bluetooth. Keyboard still working fine just that abit itchy wanna change keyboard.
