Define what is good for you? It's main selling point is for gaming with Adjustable actuation point and macros, and they are the only company currently offering that feature afaik.

If you are like me who don't game with kb+m at all, there are a lot more affordable options that offer a good and straightforward typing experience.

Does anyone know how to turn off the num lock ( num clear ) LED or at least reverse the behaviour so that it only lights up when it disabled ? For Keychron Q5

Did you try VIA software?
Maybe i missed it but the backlight menu is for the preset RGB patterns and other menus are for remapping key function. Seems to be hardcoded in the firmware.

How's Akko 3098/3098B? Planning to get one and replace my spoilt keyboard.
Most people should be happy about it right out of the box. The stock keycaps looks really great irl for the blue set, the build is solid, with very little flex, and the stock stabs are very stable once tuned no clicky or rattle. Never test the Akko software, 2.4 dongles and Bluetooth.

Only did the following mods/ fine-tuning due to my preference.
I swapped most of the stock jelly white (linear) switch to cream blue (tactile), and lubed them all.
Tape modded both the board and spacebar, don't like how it sounds too clacky, adding some tapes to the spacebar helps to mute the clacky sound a little.

Thanks! I'm too lazy to do any mods and this should be enough for me. I'm thinking should I go akko or get a logitech Keyboard instead.

Yea it doesn't needs any mod as long you picked the right switches to begin with.

I just unlucky, can't find stock with tactile from all the retailers lol....

Tried to purchase Monsgeek M3 on taobao/tmall but the Taobao shopping guide seems outdated. Can anyone suggest on taobao shopping? (Monsgeek not support oversea shopping on taobao, so 3rd party required)

Edit: add link: https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?abbucket=1&id=705208401799&sku_properties=211004089:23149859780

Can try forwarding with ezBuy.

Might want to check if the Chinese version of the Monsgeek M3 supports VIA/QMK though. The M1 didn't.

Anyways just finished building my M1 yesterday, huge upgrade compared to my previous IKBC C104 with Cherry MX Browns, but then again it was 3 times the price. Very thocky and nice to type on on. Lubing stabs makes a huge difference. Also did all the mods included in the box, so PCB tape mod and stabilizer + force break mod with the Teflon Tape stickers included.

M1 kit: $135 from Akko/Monsgeek themselves
90x Gateron Yellow Pro 2 switches: $27 (basically factory lubed Gaterons because I can't be bothered to manually lube 90 switches)
GMK clone keycaps: $33 (It is a GMK clone, so quality is okayish only)
Krytox 205G0 + keycap puller + brush + tweezers etc: $15

Total cost: $190

Pic of finished product

Things are so much cheaper now then before. 10 years ago $190 will probably get you a Corsair K70 or Razer Blackwidow, I paid $150 for a Corsair Strafe in 2015. Now you can get an entire custom keyboard for this price.

There are cheaper barebones kit than the M1, plastic barebones kits are probably $80-$100 only.

Hi guys, i'm looking for a wireless mechanical keyboard and mouse for work and light gaming (Battlefield, Diablo, Dota, Counterstrike etc).

Are keychron or Nuphy wireless mechanical keyword good?

If there's any recommendation, do let me know. Budget is around $150 for keyboard and $80 for mouse.

TIA!

Hi guys, need some help.

Am using a Filco Majestouch Convertible 2 with Cherry Browns. Added poron foam + side lubed the switches with Tribosys 3203.

Got a replacement Keychron K10 Pro with Gateron Browns, and am pretty disappointed. Keys are hollow sounding despite the inclusion of stock foam and silicon. What can I do to improve it?

I also purchased BSUN X Switches as these sound buttery smooth.

EDIT: also realised typing sounds are very inconsistent across the keyboard, as compared to my filco. Really don't know what's going on.

my very first attempt to build

JamesDonkey RS2 (Barebone)
Gazzew U4Tx switch
Black Pudding Keycap
Tape Mob
Foam Mob

I didn't do any stabilizer mob, feel very complicated with the bandaid thingy.
