radeon r9 280x 3gig
corsair 8gig ddr3 ram x2

Due budget problem...haiz :(
what GPU should i get??

mid range 1080p can riao, no need simi 4K and ultra settings all the stuff, i am not dat hardcore
budget is 300+, 400 is max

right now i narrow down to
1. GTX1060
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IEKYD5U/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

2. RX 480
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J3TZMQA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

which one better?
or do you have a better recommendation?
the cpu is still ok for now or need to change too??
pure gaming purposes only

should i hoot now or wait till RX vega come out?
but i think vega will be out of my budget :(

Both same but when Vega comes out prices may drop. So wait a bit longer.

What is your monitor refresh rate?

I feel the R9 280x should still manage 1080P quite well. May be just have to tone down the graphic quality.

Think you should hold on and wait for vega or the upcoming new 2000 series nvidia card. Your 280x still very good for 1080p gaming just tone down settings a little still can run at 60fps one. Me using R9 270 @1080p still very happy.

My suggestion is if your card is still working suggest you to at least wait for the new vega forget about the rx500 series its just a refresh of rx400 series with slight speed bump.

If really die die have to upgrade now then get the 1060 3gb or the rx480 or rx 580 then. Nowadays graphic card became outdated really fast so gpu not spoilt still can use and happy with performance can wait just wait coz gpu gets outdated really fast as amd and nvidia come out with new gpu every year very fast like there is no tomorrow.

Use your card for 1 more year.

Lower your tessellation in Radeon settings level, shadows/ AO/ AA game level.

i can still play decently but mass effect andromeda can only play at low setting with everything at off and still it can just screen freeze or auto shutdown quite frequently.
my rig is just bordering at the min req for andromeda

this is the main reason i wanna upgrade

monitor i'm using asus vg248qe

if me , I'll just get the cheapest 1060 6gb on amazon ... it's a good 15% cheaper than the MSI you linked

I would reccomend the 1060 3gb, but it seems like it can only play on low settings, for your budget you can try getting a 980ti 2nd hand for 420ish. Try zotac for longer warranty status
