People cant give you advice because your statements are very vague. Based on your description, any laptop would fulfill your requirement. E.g. how much show are you going to download? that will affect how much storage you need. light gaming doesnt mean anything, what kind of games do you play? E.g. playing Diablo 4 at ultra settings with a 4k monitor for 1 minute a week is also considered light gaming but the laptop will need to be extremely powerful.

If you are using the laptop for work, are you an accountant where you need to go through a couple thousand rows of excel? Might need more RAM for that. Do you have any laptop weight requirements?

Thanks for your reply

Storage probably looking at 512GB

Games I play are cities skyline, sim city, football manager. I will say playing around 2-3 hours a day?

Work wise, I don’t bring my work laptop home so this laptop is for me to access work from home if there are urgent stuff to work on
no requirement on weight

hmm then i think you can consider this. 16gb ram, decent CPU and a rtx3050 to handle your needs with a big 1080p IPS 15.6inch screen

Can consider Acer Nitro 5, Dell G15 or HP Pavillion.

Nope. Nothing come close to what the M1 MBA can offer
That is true, I can attest to that. Performance wise, you are getting more for the same price. Though I wouldn't recommend for playing games since you have to download Windows OS then become super troublesome.
