Recommend me a laptop

Need recommendation for a new laptop as I am going for part-time studies. Requirement is

1. Windows
2. As lightweight as possible
3. As long battery life as possible
4. Budget <2.6k
5. if possible to have 1 spare NVME so I can buy 1 more to install.

Mostly using MSoffice, watch show, and photoshop editing, no gaming. My preliminary research found quite a few laptops but wanted some recommendation especially if you have used it before.

LG Gram seems to suit your needs.

I bought a 2ndhand X1 Carbon Gen 7 i7-8650U midway through my studies cos I wanted something lighter. 16G/512G, <1.1kg, battery life is great - ran 8h doing assignments once. Only thing is no spare NVMe slot. Cost me $600 then so it was a super deal.

I don't really think newer laptops offer that much performance increments to make it worthwhile, and run hotter plus some have poorer battery life.

You may consider using external NVMe in USB 3.2x2 enclosures if on-device storage isn't as critical as having a second drive. 10Gbps transfer speeds are still decent for an external drive. This is what I do.

It's an intel 8th gen. But yes, still worth it. Love the machine.

macbook airs either 13 inch or 15 inch

If you don't play game just get Mac laptop. The CPU is a game changer, Pc still cannot catch up.

If you prefer larger screen, I highly recommend the LG Gram 16 or 17.

It is life-changing experience for the larger screen & super lightweight. That is all.

Any laptop from the last three years can support 4K easily.

Your display being stretched could be a settings issue.
