Hello guys, i am overwhelmed by the number of choices available in the market! Hope you all can help me out! not really sure what suits me after viewing other threads and i am going to use it for university sooon! In a dilemma between mac or windows notebooks... :(

1)budget:less than 2k! (must bang for the buck!)

2)durable and reliable(can last long and no need keep repair!)

3)screen size: 13-14 inches (matt display is better? not so reflective if not during day hard to see the screen?)

4)weight: 2kg and below

5)good touchpad and wont heat up easily!!

6)battery life at least 5-6 hrs?

7)the design must look good! haha

8)not very sure about the ports but i guess the more the merrier! and maybe optical drive?(nt sure if its important for school!)

9)touchscreen if possible?

Lastly, it will mainly for school work(no programming or whatsoever just basic work), and entertainment purposes- watch videos/movies, light gaming, music.

Thank you very much!

1. Asus UX31A $1598 (might be cheaper if got promotion)
2. Good reliability but just don't drop it
3. 13.3" 1080p anti-glare screen
4. 1.3kg weight
5. Should not heat up easily
6. Reviews put around 5 hours+ usage
7. Design looks good to me not sure for you
8. I only know some design & IT school required to submit the project inside CD but you still can burn those stuff with school PC
9. Sadly the touch screen model will cost $2498 (with i7 & 256GB SSD)

There are other models also like:
- Acer Aspire S7, Aspire V5 Touch & Asphire M5 Touch
- Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13
- Samsung Series 5 Touch
- MSI Slider S20
For reliability issue, I believe it is your own luck :D
