been using mac but want to try PC now. my specs very simple :
1. 128gb ram
2. 4t hdd
3. budget 5k
any recommendations what parts to get? or even easier is where can help me build one . thanks

running a lot of stuff like vm etc. i intend to run 4 vm with about 32gb ram each .. i am not a gamer. am into networking, developing etc. so i need sometimes to test out my work in different platforms.. usually will install vm for this to simulate different platforms

Sounds like you should be running a server with Xeon or Threadripper.

You can either DIY it, or ask Typhoon System to build you a AMD Threadripper set as they do provide onsite warranty for the system as well.

For DIY, here is a reference specs. Don't need to follow the exact things. Just equivalent specs will do.

- AMD Threadripper 2950X 16 Cores 32 Threads
- Asus ROG X399 Zenith Extreme
- 8x16GB G.Skill Ripjaw V 3000MHz
- Samsung 970 Evo/Pro drive of your capacity need
- 4TB WD Black
- PSU can choose from Seasonic Focus Plus, Superflower Leadex Gold or EVGA G+/G3 series. Wattage depends on your overall rig config
- GPU of your choice, not sure what suits you better as well, as it depends on your use case, monitor specs.
- if you have a lot of hard drive, consider getting Fractal Design Define R6

Cos currently amd has the highest core counts with reasonable cost. If your work load take advantage of core counts, then threadripper 2000 series is for you.
