looking for a silent 120mm to replace my current default one that came with my cavalier 3. yes it's almost a decade old and seems to have a bit of bearing noise. saw a few at fuwell today...

coolermaster sickle flow X
- 2000rpm
- 90cfm
- 19dba
- 0.35A
- $12

thermaltake luna 12
- 1200rpm
- 50.4cfm
- 20.7dba
- 0.16A
- $18

corsair af120
- 1100rpm
- 39.88cfm
- 21dba
- 0.19A
- $28

just from specs the coolermaster seems too good to be true. almost double the rpm and cfm yet the quietest and cheapest?? is it really true or is hao siao one?

the corsair looks the weakest yet the most expensive. is it really overpriced product or there is something about it that makes it worth the extra dough?

wa the coolingtechnique website given above... saw the corsair af120 review... much better than spec! at around the spec-ed rpm and cfm, it gave a 14.6dba instead of the spec-ed 21dba.

noctua p12 had similar dba and cfm as the corsair sp120, with the corsair spinning faster.

hmm....

Any recommendations for 120/140mm silent led fans? Currently using xigmatek crystal series. Looks nice, but airflow kinda ****.

Why never consider sharkoon fans. The most silent but very good static pressure.

Dont just look at air flow.

where to find sharkoon fans?

i suppose static pressure is the higher the merrier?

is a 0.5mmh2o vs 1.5mmh2o considered a huge difference? 0.5 considered pathetic?

af120 at 1066rpm/38.9cfm/14.6dba has 0.508mmh2o. sp120 at 1337/48.4/18.3 has 1.461mmh2o.

Airflow optimised fans has nvr had good static pressure, and vice versa. So, if u just need some airflow thru your case w/o obstruction, den AF120 is a decent choice.

Airflow going in to the chassis use high air flow 140mm fans such as the corsair af140.

If there is an obstruction like hdd cage etc. Use high static fans such as 120mm sharkoon blades.

Sharkoon blades

Only 0.1A
1.2w
Max 1000rpm at 19dB

But the magical static 2.63mmh20

If anyone chooses to get Corsair fans, please for the love of god get quiet edition fans
