Hi guys.

I want to swap out a GT705 (super lousy graphics card) that came along with one of my Acer desktop. Problem is the dimensions are really tiny, possible half length, low profile + single slot. Probably can only consider passive cooling as well due to space/power constraints. What kind of upgrade options can I consider?

What do you intend to do with a better gpu? Or rather what do you need in a better gpu?

Also state how small is your small? What is the desktop model?

Yup it looks like this. I haven't come across any cards quite as small that I can get to fit.
if you want a better gpu, i guess u have to replace the system, its basically too small to fit any decent gpu

u need to change the psu and the casing before getting the gpu. a new psu would not fit the existing casing. even small form psu in the market are too big for the xc casing.

to keep yr cost minimal, u may get these parts.

1) deepcool smarter casing, $39
2) gtx750 cheapest model. (search Lazada), less than $200
3) Coolermaster psu (4-500w), abt $60.

220w for a psu is really small, some more with a gpu. Even my old aspire psu already 300w without one.Looking at the limited space, very difficult to upgrade.

Maybe, just maybe, Win10 with DX12 will give some improvements to old games. Have you tried win10 technical preview with thy games?

Oh i have that pc before i converted it to trash and build a new pc for my mum.

Its a 2xxWatts OEM PSU. And its a custom made GPU that has no risers.

Its located at the top of the PC ceiling case.

And it is hard to find any GPU at that size. Cause of the clearance and also the PSU will be even harder to find if you intend to play games.

D3 definitely hard to run on that poor 705. Your only option is to go for slim profile type GPU. And the Zotac gtx 750 is definitely out as it will gets in a way with the wireless card.

The mobo PCIE is inverted. So its definitely not easy to find one that fits.

You need to find a gpu that has a single card slot rather than 1.5 or 2 slots. Not unless you wanna sacrifice the wifi card and go LAN.
