Each got its own fans. Some say Seagate got exceptionally high rma, some say Seagate good. Can't please all.

I'd say both is fine coz I haven't face any rma with either brand so far. Whichever win you in terms of price, or value, or ease of rma between the 2.

Seagate has gotten much better according to the Backblaze stats. I'm actually quite comfortable with Seagate now.

After having dead HDD from this brand, I'm no longer buying Toshiba, Seagate, WD, and Hitachi. Oh, wait...

My Seagates are archival units, write once and store away so not particularly worried.

My years old Seagate 70GB HDD powered up just fine yesterday after sitting in my shelf for 4 years

The backblaze stats does not simulate home pc use where we turn on/off daily plus the occassional improper shutdown due to accidental power off or power trip and sporadic power surges.

So I don't follow their stats. I based on the numerous times I bought hardrive since early 90s. Could already be a hundred drives since.

Only Seagate still fails me regularly than the rest. I'm not anti seagate as from time to time I gave seagate a chance.
I currently running 1 seagate compare to 12 WD, 5 Toshiba and 3 Hitachi.

I'm intending to get 2TB sata hdd to store games and movies. Will run OS and programs on SSD.

Since most of you don't recommend Seagate. Which other brand should I go for? Looking for something with good price + performance ratio and 7200rpm.
I heard Toshiba is the cheapest but not sure about it's performance. I do not want to sacrifice performance and reliability for price.
