Recommendation for 3.5" hard disk

Hi all,

As above, looking to buy a 4TB hard disk for storage, but really torn between which one to buy. Gonna use the HDD for movie and documents storage.

I know that 5400rpm would be sufficient for it but looking at lazada, the toshiba 7200 rpm hdds are selling at around same price, anyone would recommend those HDD? If not, which HDD should I get?

2tb is fine for desktop.
4tb is not a nas hdd. so im not sure about that. still can use for nas but not sure in long run.

Comparing price to Tradepac:
2TB: $75
4TB: $150

No issue with Toshiba desktop HDD in NAS. Been using 8x 2TB HDD in DS414 & DS418.

Rats I am so unlucky. I had a 2tb western digital HDD die. Then I replaced it with a 2tb Samsung hd204ui from my Nas. Less than 4 days later it dies too. And it had to die after I copied the data back from my backup and not before.

Hopefully it's the sata cable I am able to detect it in bios but once it reaches windows 10 desktop its data is missing.

Yes it will. But u need an extra power plug just to power up the hdd.

Since it's I/O error, u have no way to extract it. But I think u can maybe find a similar PCB to solve this issues?

Looking for multiple 1-2tb HDD for storage purpose. Any recommendation on the models to get or any good deals on going? Prefer HGST as heard it’s more reliable. Would also like BN and not second hand too!
