Recommendation for a 1K laptop

Hi, My 5 year old macbook air just died. I am looking to get a new laptop. Not going back to Apple as my budget is limited to around 1K.

Any recommendations?

Mainly to run Tableau and SQL.

IMO, the base model M1 macbook air will be the best for you.

In terms of battery life and performance, it's really unmatched by any Windows machine at that price.
It even outlasts my iPad.

my yoga slim pro 7. 5600h. cost 1060 sgd. Only thing is it has no HDMI port and only one weak usb A port. You need to buy another type c multiple ports adaptor to make it work properly. Of course, if you only plug one mouse and nothing additional, then this flaw does not matter.

1K tough for a normal good laptop

not a small type.........not ref to those mini -notebks
these r not basic to me:
Microsoft Surface Laptop Go ~ nt even close to 14"
w only 4b ram and 16gb storage????
& processor speed of 1-3ghz only? (anything not close to 4.2ghz is too weak)

Nowadays laptop can last 5 years max right. After that either the os upgrade, the laptop too slow or there is something wrong with the laptop

Laptops - Mine abt 3yr+ i changed liao le
5yrs ? maybe for those who hardly uses them? from cables /charger etc, alot has changed over time esp in this high-tech era

Phone? there r many frens every 1 yr changed phone, for iphones (gd and reliable as alwys) every 2yr+ also need to change (even though there will let up upgrade their system) to a new model
