Recommendation for a desktop

Hi all experts!

Will you recommend me a DIY desktop for a off the shelf desktop from Asus?

My main purposes is for online gaming such as CS:GO, DOTA2, WoW and SC2.

My budget is around $1.5k.

Personally recommend you DIY as it tends to be cheaper with better parts, and you get to choose which parts go in your pc. Which off the shelf pc are you referring to?

Haha. Coz I realised that u have been talking abt GTX 970 for rigs as low as $1.2k budget. Maybe it's that rig recommendations nowadays assume exclude OS out of the budget (or get a cheap one), compared to previously where u had to pay $110 for a legit Windows 7 Home OEM version from the shop, so GTX X70 (670, 770, 970) was only affordable at $1.7k budgets onwards.

And the obsession with SSDs..."no SSD not a pc"...
