Hi guys, I'm planning to build a new rig soon and would like to have some recommendation from the experts and enthusiasts.
My usage for this rig will be mainly gaming (50% of the time) and media (40% of the time), maybe a bit of video editing but that's like 5 to 10% of the time. I'll be using a 1440p, 144hz freesync monitor. The games I'm currently playing are Far Cry 5, PUBG, World of tanks, Warframe, GTA 5, the upcoming Bless Online (Steam) and maybe some of the future AAA titles.
CPU+MOBO: ? (I'm currently looking at the I5-8400+z370 for my new rig or is the new Ryzen 2 2600x be a better option for future proofing?)
GPU: ? (For now I'm looking at the GTX 1070/GTX 1070Ti for it's price to push my 1440p display. I don't plan to max out my graphic settings in all games and anywhere between 60fps to 144fps should be good enough for now so I can save up to upgrade for the next gen GPUs.
STORAGE: Crucial MX 500 (500GB) SSD + any 7200 RPM (1TB) HDD (Any affordable and reliable HDD to recommend?)
RAM: 16 GB DDR4 Ram (Does the clock speed of the ram matters or should I just go for the cheapest one?)
PSU: ? (600W enough to power my rig and for future GPU upgrades?)
CASE: ? (I would prefer a medium tower, good air cooler, quiet and easy cable management. I don't mind paying a bit more for a good future proof case. Black or Black/Red color preferred.)
My budget for this build is around $1800 +/- (Hope can lower a bit but don't mind paying a bit more if needed). Hopefully I don't miss out anything and thanks.
